Using this device, I appreciate Andonstar’s usability. The long lens barrel is effortless to handle, and the easy touch focus has smooth viscous damping. It’s easy to dial in a sharp focus, even when digitally zoomed all the way, with no backlash. The length of the focusing tube also puts the small but sharp color LCD at a good height and removes the lens well away from solder smoke, tools, etc.

Vertical adjustment is in two stages, and the maximum working distance is a bit more than 4.5 inches, giving a field of view well over 0.6 inches on the LCD. This allows for a large amount of space above the stage, making it ideal for SMD work. However, there is a gradual binding issue near the top position where the adjustment knobs require more force than I dare use. It might involve a steel tape mechanism, but I will contact Andonstar for assistance and update my review accordingly.

Plugging the display directly into a 50″ UHD panel (without a PC) looks impressive. However, the scope initially defaults to maximum sharpening, which gives a fairly horrible image. Adjustment buttons on the remote control can set sharpness to low, medium, and high, and I find that low is quite acceptable.

The software, however, is another matter. The USB connection to a PC has trouble going through a hub, and there is no indication of what the problem might be if this is your first time using the software. It is recommended to start with a direct connect to the PC, and if a hub is needed, expect it to require its own power source.

Overall, the Andonstar 5 inch Screen 1080P Digital Microscope is an excellent choice for circuit board repair. It has many features that make it an ideal tool for this type of work, such as a large field of view, easy touch focus, and smoothness of focus, and image clarity. Although there are some issues with the vertical adjustment and software, the device’s strengths outweigh its weaknesses. It’s a high-quality device and comes with an affordable price.

The illumination system of a microscope is an important factor to consider for optimal histological imaging. The type of illumination system can affect the quality of the image and the ability to visualize certain structures.

Most microscopes for histology use LED or halogen lights for illumination. These lights are adjustable and can be optimized for the specific sample being viewed. Some microscopes may also have a polarizing filter or other specialized lighting options for specific applications.

It is important to ensure that the illumination system is adjustable and that the microscope has adequate light intensity for the type of sample being viewed. In some cases, additional lighting sources or filters may need to be used to improve the image quality.

The 360-degree rotatable objectives allowed me to easily observe small organisms that would otherwise be invisible to the naked eye.

SWIFT Microscope for Kids Children Student 60X-200X,Compound Monocular Microscope with 42 PCS Accessories Including Smartphone Adapter, 10 PCS Blank Slides for Beginners

One of the best things about this microscope is the included smartphone adapter. This allowed me to easily capture and record images and videos of what I was observing in real time. This feature is especially useful for children, as it takes all the guesswork out of whether or not they are actually seeing what they think they are seeing. Parents and teachers can easily share the same view and help guide children in their explorations.

The microscope also comes with a wide range of accessories, including microscape tools, microscope slides, a pipette, prawn breeding plant, and an empty bottle for specimens. These accessories provide everything a young scientist needs to get started and explore the micro-world.

However, there are a few things I didn’t like about this microscope. The frame is plastic, which may not be as durable as metal frames found on more expensive microscopes. Additionally, there is no case included, which makes it more difficult to transport and store the microscope safely. Finally, the instructions say to use a dust cover to protect the eyepiece, but no dust cover is included.

One other potential frustration for children using this microscope is the lack of a find focus control. While this is a common feature missing in low-cost compound scopes, the focus on this microscope is especially stiff and erratic. I was able to create a 3D printed lever to help provide better control, but it’s still not ideal.

Despite these drawbacks, I would still recommend the SWIFT 60X-200X Compound Microscope, especially for children. It’s a great starter microscope that provides excellent value for the price. The included smartphone adapter and accessories make it easy for children to explore and learn about the micro-world. It’s also the first compound microscope anywhere near this price range that I would feel comfortable gifting.
